WORKSHOPS
U-N-I-T-Y: Sometimes the best way to unify your school is to be intentional. This nationwide holiday can be celebrated at anytime. The focus is to show unity, kindness, acceptance, and inclusion. Lori will train student leaders to run a school wide Unity Day. That’s right, this initiative is totally student led with one on one training.
SUCCESS IS A SYSTEM: There is no secret to success there are only systems. This workshop will challenge your systems and give you the tools to implement procedures that will take you to the next level.
FROM FORMING TO PERFORMING: The way your team is formed is just as important as how they perform. Organizing a team with individual leadership styles and methods is the foundation of a strong organization. This workshop will focus on forming a team and leading that team its highest performance.
HOW TO START A STUDENT ORGANIZATION: As a Student Activities Coordinator who literally had to build student activities from the ground up, Lori knows what she’s doing. Not only has she served as the advisor for Student Council, National Honor Society, Theater Club, Step Team, HOSA, SkillsUSA, BPA, and more. She started the Howard Leading Ladies Club in 2008. A program geared towards maximizing the potential in all girls. This program is still thriving and is now in other schools.
HOW TO START A STUDENT DIVERSITY TASK FORCE: Diversity, Equity and Inclusion are not buzz words. These terms speak specifically to the need of all students. Having had experience building task force, Lori comes alongside schools to take on the challenge of giving students a voice. The purpose of the SDFT is to ensure that all students are being heard and that they have a safe place to voice concerns.
COURAGEOUS CONVERSATIONS: Lori will facilitate a strategically orchestrated conversation to engage and deepen your group’s dialogue in order to allow everyone to express themselves openly and truthfully.
PARENT EMPOWERMENT: The most powerful weapon that a parent possesses is their voice. The power of voice is both underrated and understated. This workshop will focus on how parents can actively and effectively engage in parent advocacy.
